TASL RECREATION DIVISION
The Recreation Division games will begin on March 7th!!
Games will be played on Wednesday nights.

What is this new Recreation Division All About??
TASL has been trying to offer a true "recreational"
format for our players as our league has expanded.
The purpose is to provide an opportunity for players
to participate in a less competitive environment,
regardless of skill level.
The emphasis is on fun and recreation. It will
be a social atmosphere where players will enjoy
playing soccer.
It is a sanctioned league through NCASA.
Who should play
in this new Recreation Division?
Players must be 18 years of age.
Skill level should be beginner and recreational.
Parents.
Beginning players.
Players that have been away from the game and want
to ease back into it.
Players that don't care about who wins.
Players that do not compete on an "A" or "B" or high
level, competitive team.
Players that are rehabilitating an injury.
Players that do not have a team and want to meet
other players in a safe, fun environment.
Players that want to enjoy soccer and just have fun.
How much does it cost?
The fee for the Recreation Division only is $60 per
player.
What is the format of this new division?
7 game season guaranteed, once per week (primarily), at WRAL
Soccer Complex.
Monday, and some Sunday possible, game days.
8 vs 8 format
50 x 70 approximate field size (i.e. half of WRAL Durhambulls)
Small goals
25 minute game half with 5 minute half time
No scores, no standings, just play.
Every player should get a minimum of half a game on the field.
One official
How are the teams formed?
Players register individually and are assigned randomly to teams. TASL
will form the teams.
Players may only play on one team in the Recreation
Division.
Consideration is given to a request to play with a
friend or spouse, but it is not guaranteed.
There will be an equitable mix of males to females on each team.
Roster size is 14 players.
What are the Rules?
Rules are similar to Summer Heat Rules.
No goalkeeper contact allowed.
No scores are recorded.
No slide tackling.
Yellow and red cards will be issued as needed.
PK's can be called by the official.
FIFA rules apply to substitution.
No off sides.
Keeper distribution must stay within the half field
unless he is playing outside of the box like a field
player.
The play from the goalkeeper's hand must touch the
ground or a player prior to crossing the half-field
line.
An indirect free kick is awarded at the half line
for any infraction re: keeper distribution.
No team forfeits. If a team has less than 7
players show up, the two teams will combine and
split and play.
Players must have proof of identification at the
field.
Game balls are to be provided by the Home team.
Home team will wear a dark colored shirt, and
Visitor team will wear a white shirt.
Numbers are not required on shirts.
Coin toss to start the game.
Games will start on time and the clock will run
continuously except for serious injury.
Shin guards are required.
